On 23-11-23 Seabrands was founded in Sneek (NL) by Mariel van der Zee and myself (Angela Brandsma). Our last names are the Blend Word for Seabrands (Sea is Zee in Dutch). The leftover -MA of Brandsma are the first letters of our names again.
Mariel and I have been friends since kindergarten but we lost touch when we went to University.
Until one day, when I was driving from school back to Sneek and picked up a hitchhiker. It happened to be Mariel :-).
We stayed in touch but our friendship really took off again after I started my Plan B – sailing for a living. At that point Mariel was the owner of PerZee print (a company for creative textile printing solutions), and I was about to start Angelasails.com.
Mariel offered to do the printing on all my clothes and in return he added his own logo too. His logo now has sailed 55.000+nm and has been in Marinas all over the world.
Over the years I received a lot of positive reactions about my clothes and branding, so creating Seabrands just seemed a natural next step..
