“What will happen if I make a deciscion and you don’t agree?”
I am looking at my Ipad and I have a crew interview with Pilip (AUS) and Geraldine (Philippines) on facetime. They are the owners of the “In Tune” (a 12 meters catamaran) and through Ocean Crew Link I came into contact with them.
My mind is racing because I want to answer Philip his question in a favourable way. After a split second I hear myself saying: “in the end it is your boat so you decide”.. Geraldine is laughing and telling me that it is completely okay to disagree “I do it all the time”..
15 minutes into the meeting she suddenly interrupts Phil and says: “Stop asking so many questions Phil, I already know I want her!”

Right there it becomes a done deal. I am joining the In Tune as one of the crew for the Atlantic Crossing from Las Palmas to Saint Lucia. A week later I learn they have also added Steve (UK) and Martin (UK).
I am happy and relieved. A plan is beginning to take shape and those who know me are aware of how import that is for me.
On november 6th 2015 I became a mom of the most beautiful boy in the world but had to say goodbye to him only 25 days later. Since then life has been a struggle. I tried making George big brother but had to give that up in August of this year after 15 attempts. Around the same time I sold my apartment and I was heartbroken by the fact that I will never have to purchase a house with a garden in which a little child will be playing. Which was the whole point of putting my apartment for sale..
I did not recognize myself anymore and needed out. But how does one go about doing that?
After having to give up on having my own little family and after having sold my apartment I decided it would be best for me to also let go of my job and be completely free.
Freedom to do what I love most: Sailing.
So on the 15th of November I arrived in Las Palmas and met Philip and Geraldine for the first time.
